Dan Chen brings to China eCapital Partners, LLC (“CEC Capital US”) over 23 years of investment banking, private equity and corporate development experience in the technology, media, consumer, and healthcare industries, and has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions during his career. Dan currently leads origination and execution of cross-border US – Asia M&A and capital raising mandates for clients in the technology, media, consumer, and healthcare industries.

Dan was a Managing Director at Siemer & Associates prior to CEC Capital US. He was also a member of the investment team at TPG Capital (TPG Asia), where he was involved on cross-border buyout and venture investments in the U.S. and Asia. Dan was also Vice President in the media and software groups at Montgomery & Co., where he was involved on a number of large M&A transactions involving strategic acquirers such as Disney and WPP Group. He also led corporate development activities at a family office-backed holding company in Los Angeles focused on investments in the healthcare services and IT space.

Dan began his career in 1999 as a technology M&A banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York and San Francisco. In his spare time, Dan enjoys being a part of the mentor team at Mucker Capital, advising tech startups and entrepreneurs in the early-stage startup ecosystem in Southern California and the Bay Area. Mr. Chen graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a registered General Securities Principal (Series 24) and Representative (Series 79 and 63 licenses) with FINRA/SIPC (formerly NASD).
